1. The beta
River is a video-chat poker app for private games with friends. These draft terms describe the current beta and the intended rules for its release. River is still being tested. Features, room state and test purchases can change or reset.
The current purchase preview uses RevenueCat’s Test Store. It simulates purchases without charging real money. Test receipts are not paid orders or balances. Real payments will require separate provider and legal launch approval and the applicable purchase disclosures.
2. Who can play
The intended beta is for adults age 18 or older. Do not use River if you are under 18, cannot agree to the applicable terms, or are prohibited from using it where you are located. River is not directed to children.
Use the app only for lawful, personal entertainment. Availability of a website or invitation does not establish that every feature is permitted in every jurisdiction.
3. Free play chips
Poker and Flop Roulette use free virtual play chips. Refills are free. Chips are not money, do not represent a deposit, and cannot be purchased, redeemed for cash, traded for value or withdrawn. River does not offer real-money betting, paid tournament entry or prizes with monetary or material value.
Do not arrange outside cash bets, sell or exchange chips, wager decorations, or use River to organize gambling for something of value. Playing or winning does not create a right to payment. Flop Roulette results come from the game’s flop cards; purchased decorations do not affect cards, odds or game results.
4. Rooms and guest seats
Guest names and room seats are not permanent accounts. The current app stores your session on your device. Keep invitation links and seat credentials private. Anyone with a valid invitation may be able to request a seat, subject to the room’s controls.
Hosts can manage their table, including removing seats, locking admission and pausing play. Leaving, removal, inactivity, expired credentials or clearing browser data can affect your ability to return. Optional accounts can recover linked seats on another device and save private clubs, scheduled nights, standings and equipped pins. Keep your recovery code private: it replaces the password and revokes older sessions and linked table access. River has no email password reset. Browser-only preferences and guest seats remain specific to that browser.
5. Playing together
Be respectful. Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, exploit, disclose another person’s private information, share unlawful content, infringe others’ rights, or interfere with the app. Do not manipulate the game, bypass access controls or use unauthorized automation to gain an advantage.
You control whether to enable your camera or microphone. Other participants receive the media and messages you share. Do not record or redistribute another person’s audio, video or messages without the consent required by law. River does not provide a recording feature; other people may still capture what they receive.
You remain responsible for content you share. You permit River to transmit and, for messages and game records, store that content as needed to provide the table. This permission does not give River ownership of your content. The Privacy policy explains current data handling.
6. Exact art packs
River’s first proposed paid offer is seven exact packs of twelve seat decorations each. Every included item can be previewed. Each pack would use one non-consumable unlock, without automatic renewal, random items, play chips, paid entry or an advantage in poker or Flop Roulette. New subscription sales are paused.
The current 101 matched card/chip sets, 101 felts, 50 decks, original sixteen icons, base game, private tables, calls and ordinary chip refills stay free. Challenge rounds have equal free stacks and do not allow refills during the round; purchases cannot bypass this rule. Free challenges award standings, not cash or material prizes.
Eligible equipped seat pins are shared with other players after River’s server verifies access. Pack previews include pictures of chip stacks, cards and trophies; these are decorations, not balances, playable cards or prizes. A valid pack unlock permits personal use within River. It does not transfer ownership of the artwork, grant resale rights or create something that can be wagered, traded or redeemed.
Simulated access follows a recoverable River account across devices. Sign in before testing checkout, and protect your password and recovery code. Existing valid test VIP access remains recognized, but no new VIP subscriptions are offered by this release. A separately valid pack is not removed when test VIP expires.
One-time access lasts while the purchase remains valid and River provides the feature. Refunds or revoked receipts remove the associated unlock. No lifetime service, future art drops or unbuilt benefits are promised. Test receipts are not paid orders and may be reset during the beta.
7. Purchases and refunds
Real payments remain off until legal review, Stripe acceptance and a separately authorized production release are complete. Prices labeled “proposed” are for review; they are not an invitation to pay. Test prices describe a simulated checkout that charges nothing.
A future approved order must show the selected pack, exact contents, full price, currency, applicable taxes, delivery terms and refund terms before payment. An owned pack cannot be purchased again. If an unlock is delayed or status is uncertain, refresh purchases or contact support rather than placing another order.
The Purchases and refunds draft sets out the proposed delivery and support process for review. Applicable consumer rights remain intact. Test receipts have no real payment to refund. River will not collect real money under these draft policies.
8. Availability and changes
Beta software can have errors, interruptions, compatibility issues or lost test state. Calls depend on devices, browser permissions and network connections. River does not guarantee continuous availability, preserved test balances or successful calls on every network.
We may change or end beta features and restrict access for abuse or violations of the applicable rules. Material changes to operative terms or paid benefits will require appropriate notice and any consent required by law. A paid service shutdown would require a separate customer resolution process; this beta does not accept real payments.
9. Your rights
You may stop using River at any time. River’s software and supplied artwork remain subject to their respective licenses. Do not claim ownership of another person’s content or use the service in a way that infringes those rights.
Nothing in these terms excludes a remedy, warranty, liability or consumer protection that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your applicable legal rights remain intact. Contact River about support, access or privacy concerns.
